Clarifiers We Inspect

We inspect primary, secondary, and final clarifiers in both circular and rectangular configurations, including center-feed and peripheral-feed designs, from primary units pulling solids and floatables ahead of biological treatment, to secondary clarifiers settling activated sludge after aeration, to final clarifiers in tertiary trains. Every configuration has its own mechanical layout and its own failure points, and our inspectors have worked across the full range you'll find in municipal and industrial plants.

What We Check

We look at the whole system, mechanical and structural, not just the easy parts:

  • Drive unit and gearbox: motor condition, gear wear, torque overload indicators, and lubrication status
  • Sludge collector and scraper mechanism: chain, flight, or rotating-arm condition, scraper-blade wear, and whether sludge is actually being moved the way it should be
  • Skimmer and scum removal: operation and mechanical wear
  • Effluent weirs and baffles: weir levelness, baffle condition, and flow distribution, all of which land straight in your effluent numbers
  • Tank or basin structure: concrete or steel condition, corrosion, and signs of settlement
  • Center column and support bearing: a common failure point in circular clarifiers, checked wherever applicable
